Born in 1986, Zachary Glenn Tutor is a second-generation American artist whose work is deeply rooted in the imagery and mythology of the American West. A formative childhood moment sparked this lifelong pursuit, later reinforced through his upbringing in his father’s studio and his curatorial work with Supersonic Art. Early in his career, he focused on photorealistic graphite landscapes before transitioning to painting in 2024. Influenced by both contemporary Western artists and figures like Maynard Dixon, Tutor has developed a distinct visual language shaped by travel and observation. His work centers on Indigenous and working women of the West, reframing traditional narratives to emphasize resilience, presence, and lived experience.
